1st practice is Wednesday September 12.  2nd practice Monday September 17.

See the rosters below for your practice team and time.  For these sessions your practice team will scrimmage against another practice team for 1 hour.  No officials, no timekeeper, no stats.  During that time, the Team Captains will scout and evaluate players for skill level so that we can put final rosters together where the teams will be fairly equal in hockey and skating skills (or at least attempt to do this).  Wear a jersey in your team color, or try to bring both light and dark colors.  Be aware that the team you practice with may not be the team you practice with on September 17 or play with during the regular season.  It’s also possible for the Captains to meet during the regular season to make roster adjustments (trades).

Before each practice session I will need a few minutes to check attendance and collect your size and favorite number for your jersey.  I already know this information for many of you.  And I know you put your jersey size on your registration form that you sent in to the Expocentre, but that doesn’t mean that I will see it.  The League will be ordering jerseys only for those that don’t have one for the team that they play with.

The Expo is very firm about players being registered before they may step on the ice.  Don’t bring your friend or relative, they can’t play if not registered.

The Expocentre will have someone at the 1st practice to take registration forms and payment.  In this case, payment must be in the form of a personal check for all or half of the total fee.  They cannot take cash or credit cards.  If plastic is your only option, you must contact the Expocentre office before practice.

We are still waiting for a decision concerning insurance.  The Expocentre is talking to USA Hockey about getting sanctioning for our league.  If this gets done all players must have USA Hockey membership/insurance.

We have a lot of regular players who take their sweet time about getting registered, so I hope to fill up 6 teams.  For the first practice, however, we will field 4 teams.  Right now we have 4 goaltenders registered.  If you are a goaltender and wish to guard a net, please get in touch with me right away.  Goaltenders pay no fees, but you cannot skate out unless you pay the fee.

See the Expocentre Ice Calendar for game dates, public skating, youth hockey, Pilots schedule, etc. at http://www.ksexpo.com/

To say Thank You to our sponsors we like to get together between games a couple of times at each sponsor’s business.  Please watch for these announcements and join us for a little extra fun with league mates.

Thank you again to our sponsors and especially to the Kansas Expocentre for hosting the league.

If you wish you may practice both sessions as long as the assigned players get their full ice time.  If you registered today, or will register tomorrow, you name will not appear below.  Show up to play with your former team, or just show up at either time.

If you are out of shape, no barfing on the ice or player box.
